Yes hole in the wall but as authentic as you can get...salsa served with chips was super hot...which I loved. Had the enchiladas and ate them up! That had a fruiteria...looked great but I was stuffed. Oh, BYOB...has station down the road had plenty of ice cold beer!
For good and affordable authentic Mexican food, you can't go wrong with raspas! The elotes stand in the store is the best elotes I've ever had! You can load it up with whatever condiments and seasonings according to your liking. I always get their 5 mini taco plate which is not on the menu. You get to pick 2 types of meats and it comes with a bowl of charro beans all for under $5. It's simply a no brainer! My favorites are the barbacoa and the costillas!
Put this on your college station list!! Most likely my complimentary salsa. The salsa is fresh and sweet with memorable heat :) Chips are average I got the sopes with carnitas. And YUM. My tastebuds had a party. It was very flavorful, had a fresh yet big serving of avocado, and white shredded cheese. Our meals came with 2 sauces, and I put that on my sopes and that's when the flavor party began. So spicy and super rich with fresh taste! We only got 2 servings of chips and we didn't get any napkins upon sitting down. A tip to please provide napkins next time and my preference would be to have enough chips to finish the salsa. Repeat visit expected
I knew this was my last trip to Bryan as our daughter graduated and we were moving her to Waco. I have no desire to drive those congested two lane roads again. But I had to make one more stop to Raspas El Payasito for a fruit cup. Luckily they have a parking lot behind the restaurant to park my big UHaul. They have the best fruit cups I have had in Texas. The fruit are all spears instead of a bunch of cut up fruit. It was all ripe fruit and drenched in lime juice and chili. I will miss you...
I ended up going for a late night elote trip with my boyfriend. It was fast & Yummy!! My boyfriend thought the salsa on top was super spicy though.
